DAY 1: PLATEAU DE DIENG DAY TOUR

From Jogjakarta we will make the three hour journey to the Dieng Plateau. Dieng, meaning Abode of the Gods, is part of a volcanic complex located 2000 metres above sea level. The plateau is home to a number of small Hindu shrines; you’ll visit the Arjuna candi, the oldest Hindu temple complex in Java, and a testament to Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.

While in this area, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the still-active volcanic complex, comprising more than twenty craters and volcanic cones, as well as the beautiful colour-changing waters of Telaga Warna - sometimes bright turquoise, other times white or green, depending on the sulfur deposits in the lake.

Your final stop will be the city of Wonosobo, where you’ll have free time to eat (not included) before returning to your hotel in Yogyakarta.
