Komodo Cruises.
The Komodo National Park is one of the richest and most diverse marine environments in the world, thanks to the strong currents of the region. Also known as the home of the famous Komodo dragon, it is certainly one of the best diving destinations on our planet. The park is located in the strait of the same name, where the Indian Ocean and the Banda Sea converge.
In the north, you’ll find some of the most beautiful varieties of reefs in the world, with a rich combination of hard and soft corals, schools of anthias, wrasses, angelfish, and also reef sharks, tuna, and giant trevallies.
In the south, extraordinary dive sites like "Manta Alley" showcase manta rays swirling and performing an endless and magical dance. You’ll find even more soft corals, an incredible explosion of colors, and even more macro life. The water temperature is cooler here than in the north and can drop to 22°C during summer.
Komodo offers a great variety of dives: "pelagic" dives with reef sharks, white-tip sharks, black-tip sharks, grey sharks, etc., in strong currents; soft drift dives; wall dives (with colorful drop-offs, monumental rocks, underwater mountains, pinnacles, and sandy slopes); and of course, macro dives. While turtles are frequent, we’ve also encountered whales and cow-nose rays (Rhinoptera bonasus) on rare occasions.
Komodo is truly a diving paradise, offering everything from thrilling dives for experienced divers to a rich marine life for those simply wanting to marvel at underwater beauty.
